Rogers & Brown is seeking candidate to take on exciting opportunity of managing and further developing our Entry team based in Charleston, SC. This position is responsible for reviewing all import documents, determining proper classification for Customs purposes, notifying importer if additional information is required, determining the appropriate entry type for Customs purposes, and processing entries electronically to Customs. Determine correct classification for Custom purposes to ensure all required documents are present. Contact customers if any additional information is needed to determine classification or make entry to US Customs. Maintain up-to-date Harmonized Tariff schedules. Read ABI administration messages, Customs bulletins, other government agency information and notify customers of information pertinent for them. Generate all documents necessary in clearing cargo, including Rogers & Brown invoice. Update customer profile with specific customer information in regard to HSTUS numbers, US Customs information, contacts. Maintain good working relationship with US Customs, port authorities, other brokers and customers. Any other duties deemed necessary.
Responsibilities
Initiate bookings and dispatch for trucking.
Track and monitor to ensure all deadlines are met.
Complete documentation and invoicing – including export filings and bill of lading instructions
Qualifications
HS Diploma/GED – required
Data Entry skills – required
Minimum of 2 years Customs Brokerage Experience
Freight forwarding experience – preferred
Microsoft Office – required
Strong Interpersonal skills – verbal and written communication – required
Customer Service skills – required
